Preparing for Nom-ination
What is a successful food truck to do after taking on the home market and creating a legion of nomivores? Why, expand into San Francisco, of course! Already fielding two trucks in the Southland, Great Food Truck Race Season 1 runner-up and Los Angeles banh mi truck heavyweight Nom Nom Truck will be rolling out a truck for the San Francisco market soon.
The word on Twitter is that vending locations and the launch date are still TBA, but if the listing for a Day Time Manager position is any indication we'd expect tires to hit pavement sometime in late July. Requests sent to Nom Nom for comment are awaiting response, so anything we find out will get printed here.
Food trucks expanding to other metropolitan areas is nothing new. Savvy businesses like Coolhaus are in multiple markets. Sustainable hot dog cart Let's Be Frank has a retail location on Steiner as well as several LA trailers and carts. There is definitely room in the Bay Area for another Vietnamese truck, and one that carries the kind of reputation that Nom Nom does is okay by us.
Is San Francisco nomworthy? We'll find out soon enough.
