Make a Bay Area Truck America's Favorite and Win a Trip

By now you are probably letting the first episode of Season Two of the Great Food Truck Race sink in and wondering why there are no trucks from the Bay Area this year. Well here is your guide to help you cast your ten daily votes to pick one of next season's contestants, and you have four six great trucks from San Francisco and San Jose to choose from. Not only that, but Food Network is awarding a trip for two to New York to one lucky voter.

A few days ago we told you about how Chairman Bao has been nominated for a chance to appear on Season Three of the Food Network's the Great Food Truck Race. The America's Favorite Food Truck Giveaway opened on Sunday, August 14 to both online and text polls, and six food truck nominees from the Bay Area are hoping to be named America's Favorite Food Truck. Joining Chairman Bao are Senor Sisig, Bacon Bacon and Kara's Cupcakes from San Francisco, as well as MoGo BBQ and Babaloo from San Jose.

The food truck receiving the most votes by September 12 will win $10,000 and earn the title of America's Favorite Food Truck. They will also get the chance to be a contestant on Season Three of the show. And there's something in it for you, too. One lucky voter, picked from all the votes cast, will receive a three-day/two-night trip for two to New York City to attend the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival.

Despite being hosted by Mill Valley resident Tyler Florence, who owns several restaurants and a chain of luxury kitchen supply stores around San Francisco, there are no food trucks from the Bay Area among the finalists of Season Two of the Great Food Truck Race. Even though five of the eight competitors this year are from California, none of the trucks seeking to win the $100,000 grand prize come from any farther north than Los Angeles. Spencer on the Go made it to week five of Season One of the show.

The Great Food Truck Race on Food Network airs Sundays at 10pm. Voting ends September 12, so use your ten daily votes to full effect and help put the Bay Area back in the race. You might even get something for your troubles.

Update: Corrected the number of Bay Area nominees from four to six and included Kara's Cupcakes and MoGo BBQ.
