Off the Grid's Second Theme Night is All About Curry

The second theme night from Off the Grid will be a showcase for the flavorful and aromatic concoctions that can hail from all over the world but all go by the same name: curry. Going by the title "Eat Curry, Don't Worry!," it will take place at the McCoppin Hub market on Saturday, August 6, from 5-9 PM.

Unlike the first theme night, Hot Food/Cold Nights, this Saturday's event does not look to require a prepaid ticket, so anyone who wants to compare the ten different curries from such origins as China, Peru, India, Japan or even "Asian fusion" can try one or all at their pleasure.

Those who do try several get to make an informed vote, however. There will Off the Grid t-shirts awarded to those who dare to name a favorite curry of the evening.

Vendors will still have non-curry dishes for sale, if that's more your style. Here's a rundown of curries to sample for the evening.

Tomkat:
  • Chinese Curry Chicken
Sanguchon
  • Pollo al Curry
  • Bolita de Yucca
  • Pork Estofado
Kasa Indian Truck
  • Goan Fish Curry
  • Kati Rolls stuffed with Lamb Curry or Chicken Tikka Masala
JapaCurry
  • Fusion Japanese Curry
Hiyaaa
  • Stewed Asian Fusion Chicken Curry
Curry Up Now
  • Goat Curry
  • Chicken Vindaloo
